JEANNE R. BURTON

After leaving the Nassau County District Attorney's office in 1991, Jeanne R. Burton worked as a Defense Attorney in the courts of Suffolk and Nassau Counties. She began her practice in the Suffolk County Family Court in 2002.

Jeanne’s ability to speak Spanish allows her to advocate on behalf of the Hispanic population.

A multitude of varied cases have her trading hats and expertise, advocating alternately as the Attorney for the Child[ren], respondent parents, intervening relatives, or foster parents. Jeanne handles neglect and abuse cases as well as custody/visitation disputes and orders of protection. She chooses not to handle matrimonial cases.

Jeanne’s caseload focuses on the advocacy of families’ needs and rights. She is a passionate advocate for her clients, individually handling each aspect of the case.
